Indian Navy officials release a notification for Senior Secondary Recruits (SSR) Recruitment twice a year in June or July and November or December month. Navy SSR Recruitment is only for unmarried male candidates. The contenders who have completed their 10+2 examination with Maths & Physics and at least one of Chemistry/Biology/Computer Science subjects can apply online.
The selection is based upon state-wise merit of participants in
- Written Test,
- Physical Fitness Test and
- Medical Standards.
In the written test question paper comprises of four subjects
- English(25 questions and 25 marks)
- Science(25 questions and 25 marks)
- Mathematics(25 questions and 25 marks)
- General Awareness(25 questions and 25 marks)
The question paper will be bilingual (Hindi & English) and objective type. The total number of question is 100 and total marks are also 100. The standard of question paper is 10+2. The total duration of the question paper will be 60 minutes. For the wrong answer, there will a penalty of 0.25 marks.
Physical Fitness Test(PFT) will consist of 1.6 Km run to be completed in 7 minutes, 20 squat ups and 10 Pushups. Candidates undergoing PFT will do so at their own risk.
For Medical Test Minimum height 157 cms, Weight and Chest should be proportionate and minimum chest expansion of 5 cms is required. Medical examination will be conducted by authorized military doctors.
