Air Force Y Group
Indian Air Force officials conduct the exam for recruitment of Airmen in Y Group. This exam conducts twice a year. The male contenders who have passed 10+2 in any stream are eligible for these non-technical posts.
The selection process of Y Group is based upon Written Test, Document Verification, Physical Fitness Test, Adaption Test-1, Adaption Test-2 and Medical Examination.
- The written test consists of 50 questions in which 20 questions of English and 30 questions of Reasoning and General Awareness subjects. The total marks are 50 and duration is 45 minutes. For the wrong answer, there will a penalty of 0.25 marks.
- PFT consists of 1.6 km in 06 minutes and 30 seconds, 10 push-ups, 10 sit-ups and 20 squats within the stipulated time.
- Adaption Test-1 is to assess the suitability of a candidate for employment in the IAF.
- Adaption Test-2 is to select candidates who can adapt to the environment of IAF.
- The medical examination includes the investigation of Blood Haemogram, Urine RE/ME, Blood Sugar Fasting & PP, Serum Cholesterol, Urea, Uric acid, Creatinine, LFT — Serum Bilirubin, SGOT and X-Ray chest, ECG (R). Previous year cut off for Group Y was 38.
